Creating Your First Workflow

A workflow is an automated process that connects your apps and services. Let's build a simple workflow that sends a Slack message whenever you receive a new entry from a Typeform form.

Step 1: Create a New Workflow

From your dashboard, click the "Create Workflow" button. You'll be taken to the workflow builder.

Step 2: Set Up the Trigger

The trigger is the event that starts your workflow.

  1. Search for and select "Typeform" as the trigger app.
  2. Choose the "New Form Entry" trigger event.
  3. Connect your Typeform account and select the form you want to monitor.
  4. Test the trigger to pull in a sample form entry. This data will be used to build the rest of your workflow.

Step 3: Configure the Action

The action is what your workflow does after it's triggered.

  1. Click the "+" icon to add an action step.
  2. Search for and select "Slack".
  3. Choose the "Send Channel Message" action.
  4. Connect your Slack account and choose the channel where you want to post the message.
  5. Map data from the Typeform trigger to customize your Slack message. For example, you can pull in the name and email from the form entry.

Step 4: Activate Your Workflow

Once you're happy with your setup, give your workflow a name and toggle it "On". Congratulations, your first workflow is now live!

Connecting Your Apps

AM&DG integrates with thousands of applications. Connecting your apps is a simple and secure process.

  1. Navigate to the "Apps" section from your main dashboard.
  2. Click "Add Connection" and search for the app you want to connect.
  3. A pop-up window will appear, prompting you to authorize AM&DG to access your account. This is typically done using OAuth, which is highly secure and doesn't require you to share your password with us.
  4. Once authorized, your connection will be available to use in any of your workflows.
